Here’s a good way to start the year.
Submitted by Susan Brown and Joseph Stowe, Denver, Colorado. Grades 3-5.
Background: We presented this student expectation concept the first day of school and sent it home with our third, fourth, and fifth graders. We had an excellent return; we had parents comment on it at back-to-school night; and we have a commitment from our students. We feel it was a great way to start the year as we spent time teaching rules, procedures, routines and consequences. It is a helpful tool for holding students accountable and it is helping our class management.
