A neat warm-up for grades 4-6.
Submitted by Marilyn Meischen, Yorktown, Texas.
BACKGROUND: I stand in the front of the class and lead them in a variety of exercises to music. We then do the “fitness rock.” This is a short jog across the gym floor.
Every row jogs to the right in a single file line. They touch the sideline and jog across the gym to the other sideline and then back to their original positions.
We then resume the warm-up with different exercises. After the exercise are finished, we do the “fitness rock,” as the jogging process starts again.
This can turn into a terrific aerobic workout. It is a great activity during Public School Week or for P.T.A. programs!
