A softball lead-up game for grades 4-5 designed to create greater student success.
Submitted by Jan Finck, Maumee, Ohio.

BACKGROUND: As an Adapted Physical Education teacher, I find it fun to modify existing games for the students to try. Field Handball is played just like softball, except there is no pitcher.

The batter puts the ball (utility ball or large nerf ball) in play by hitting it with an underhand volleyball serve. Once the ball is hit, the batter runs the bases as in kickball or softball.

Outs are performed in the same fashion as softball. Change sides after 3 outs or when 5 runs are scored.
