Here is a fun back-to-school ice-breaker that we use to help our students to get to know one another. By Ron Ramspot
The all-star challenge is a fun, fast-paced way for your students to introduce themselves. Even if your students are familiar with their classmates, this is a great chance to learn and make connections that they otherwise would not have during the school day.
How to play
These directions are mirrored in the “all star challenge” worksheet below:
Start with star #1 and find a person who meets one of the descriptions in the “home to 1st” box. Introduce yourself and kindly ask them to sign their initials in the star. Go to star #2 and find a person who meets one of the other descriptions in the “home to 1st” box. Once again, get their initials and then move to the next star. Use the descriptions in the “1st to 2nd” box for stars 4-6 as you make your way to second base. Use the descriptions in the “2nd to 3rd” box for stars 7-9 as you make your way to third base. Finally, use the descriptions in the “3rd to home” box for stars 10-12. Be the first to make it home and be the PE all-star!
